Seneca Lake will look a little like Greenland on June 3 & 4. Cheri Perry and Turner Wilson (of Kayak Ways in Connecticut) are coming to the Finger Lakes and bringing their toys (kayaks, paddles and tuiliks) & expertise.
There will be 3 on-water sessions Saturday:
9 - 11 - Rolling (Max 6 participants)
11:30 - 1:30 - Strokes (max 12 participants)
2 - 4 - Rolling (Max 6 participants)
There will be 2 on-water sessions Sunday:
9 - 11 - Rolling (Max 6 participants)
11:30 - 1:30 - Strokes (max 12 participants)
All sessions are planned for Seneca Lake at Starkey Point. Saturday evening we will also have a Greenland slide-show presentation (and a buffet) at Starkey Point. Any participant may attend the slide show and buffet with friends and family. Paddle venue is subject to change if we have to duck weather, so plan to be flexible in soooo many ways. Paddle venue will be confirmed on 01-JUN with all registered participants.
Off the water, I plan to make paddle blanks available for anyone who wants to carve their own paddle when they are not on (or in) the water. You may or may not finish in the course of the day, but you'll get a really good start and good advice to get you going.
So, come for one session or come for all! It should be a great time and we'll all learn a LOT. You may also use non-session time to practice on-water and/or work on a paddle. There will be folks here to help as spotters should you want some practice help.
Space will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis. Reserve your space with the Registration Form. If you want to carve a paddle, fill out the Paddle Form.
If you have questions please email me. Hope to see you there!
PS - If you are interested in building your own S-O-F kayak with Turner here on Seneca Lake this August, check this out!
